I really can't believe I have another album worth of material to record that I'm very excited about but I do... In a way I feel A lot of these ideas
for chords and songs have probably been inside me since I bought my guitar from my youth Minister in High School in 1995.
Plus with all the free time lately
it's been really a hoot to wake up, eat, write a song, take a nap, go for a drive, eat... This is probably triggering a conditioned thought inside you like "You lazy fucker... The rest of us have
to do shit we don't wanna do for eight-twelve hours a day because that's what this world is about..." Well you can rest assure I'll be filling out resumes and back in the
matrix really soon like the rest of ya."... But this summer is mine... Sorta like Andy sitting in the chair in Shawshank Redemption before the guards knock the door down and bring him back to their reality.
My reality right now is a couple of simple things I learned the last couple of weeks...
1. Don't drink or do drugs if your in a bad space... As hard as it is.. Get the fuck out of the house... This is much harder some days as you want to stay in the womb of bed. But the sun can make that change you want to happen inside you as well as
any drug can.
2. I have A lot of fair weather friends that come and go based on my creative career... Which is kind of pathetic since it really isn't much of one. But when I have good luck in my artistic endeavors I can also expect 15-20 people to come out of the
woodwork... They don't even know they're doing it half the time... Maybe when they hear about me it prompts them to get in touch... But I'm here all year round.
3. Don't put all them eggs in one shitty basket. If bad luck falls on you try to create four different things to look forward to instead of one... Reconnect with old friends, make amends with people you were shitty with,
try a new hallucinogenic, drive one state over and find someplace to buy books or eat, write (YOUR READING THIS), go after someone "out of your league"...etc.
4. NO TV. Seriously... It's putting you in a world you can give a shit less about and taking away precious time from finding your own... You seriously need to reclaim it... If you really need to know the weather go outside.
5. A perfect time to pick up a copy of "Thoughts Are Things" by Prentice Mulford.
6. Take a nap. You have a better chance of having an amazing lucid dream... Especially on a hot lazy afternoon. Today I dreamt I was about to kiss this amazing galpal I wanted to date in highschool... And she turned me down... Oh well.
